Why do I have to put $20 on the line?

When something is at stake, you're far more likely

The $20 isn't a fee, it's your commitment

Do I get my money back?
Yes.
When you arrive on time, you will
receive your full $20 back.
What happens if I'm late?
If you're 5–15 minutes late,
you'll forfeit $5 of your $20 stake.
If you're more than 15 minutes late or don't
SHOW UP, you'll forfeit the entire stake.
How is attendance verified?
Both participants confirm attendance
after the commitment. As SHOW UP grows,
we'll introduce additional verification methods
to make check-ins even more reliable.

commitments with people you already know.
Is my reputation public?
Your reliability helps improve matching,
but we believe accountability should encourage
growth, not embarrassment.
We're designing the platform to reward
consistency while giving everyone
the opportunity to improve.
What if I can't find a match?
If no one is available for your activity, time,
or location, we'll notify you and help you
find another option.
What if my accountability partner doesn't show up?
If you arrive on time and your partner doesn't,
you'll receive your full refund,
earn a portion of your partner's $20 stake,
and continue building your reliability score.
So, can I actually make money by using SHOW UP and being committed.
Yes.
What happens to the forfeited money?
Missed commitments don't disappear.

Notice Given:
>24 hours = Full refund
4-24 hours = Lose 25%
<4 hours = Lose 50%
No show = Lose 100%
